Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere 7.x Standard/Enterprise Plus virtualization infrastructure
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and operational requirements
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
Assist in capacity planning and performance analysis
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights
Upgrade systems and processes regularly following industry best practices
Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support

Provisions new LUNs, storage monitoring, configuration, and patching management
Effectively communicating current and future storage requirements and feature sets as they relate to an enterprise. Participate in Performance tuning and troubleshooting as it relates to File and Block storage implementations and system operations

Requirements

Experience with installing, configuring, and managing VMware ESXi hosts
Experience with vCenter Server Appliance 7.x
Experience with deploying and managing virtual machines
Experience with VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT)
Experience with configuring/provisioning vvol/VMFS datastores
Experience with Ansible or any other configuration tools
Experience with PowerShell, Python and Bash is considered an advantage
Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, subnetting, routing, switching)
Hands-on experience with iSCSI configuration, Storage Area Networks (SANs)

Demonstrated Unix administration skills required
Very good skills in technical English
Good organization, analytical, and prioritization skills
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Able to deal with a large, varied workload and prioritize accordingly
